Davis, 84, sister of the late Gov. Earl Long, U. S. Sen. Huey Long, and the late U. S. Rep. George Long, died Monday at her home in Ruston. She had been in failing health for some time. Widely known as "Miss Lottie:, Mrs. Davis, aunt of U. S. Sen. Russell Long, had served as president of the Davis Bros. Lumber Co., for many years. She was a member of the Colonial Dames, Daughters of the American Revolution, Cosmos Club, Eastern Star, Business and Professional Women's Club and the National Society of the Sons and Daughters of the Pilgrims. A former teacher in Winn Parish schools, Mrs. Davis had been a resident of Ruston since 1921 and was active in Ruston's civic affairs. She attended schools in Winn Parish, Montgomery, and was a graduate of Northwestern State College in Natchitoches. Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Tuesday in First Baptist Church in Ruston with the Rev. G. Avery Lee officiating. Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery, Ruston. Survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Robert Parrott of Alexandria, and Mrs. Felton Green of Ruston; three sisters, Mrs. Clara Knott of Many, Mrs. Stewart Hunt of Ruston, and Mrs. Olive Cooper of Natchitoches; a brother, Julius T. Long of Shreveport; six grandchildren and one great grandchild.
