Davis Succumbs After Long Illness Lee W. Davis, 80, retired night watchman for the Carey Salt Company, died in a Winnfield hospital following a long illness Tuesday, June 21, 1966. He was a native of Alabama but had lived most of his lifetime in Winn Parish. Funeral services were conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday in the chapel of Southern Funeral Home with Dr. W. L. Holcomb officiating. Burial was in the Garden of Memories Cemetery under direction of Southern. Acting as pallbearers were Beverly F. Taylor, I. G. Richmond, Leonard Horton, Hubert Howard, Otis Dean, Herman Lang, and Pat Frey. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Clemmie Davis of Winnfield and a host of nieces and nephews.
