Former T & G Employee Dies In Shreveport

Charles Whitney Davis, 54, former T & G railway employee here, died Sunday
morning at his home in Shreveport following a brief illness.  Funeral services
were held in Hixson chapel Monday at 4:30 p.m. with burial in Winnfield
Cemetery.  Rev. Alwin Stokes conducted the funeral.

Mr. Davis, brother in law of Mrs. John T. DeLoach of Winnfield, was a native
of Greenville, Miss., and had lived in Shreveport for the past 23 years. He
was an accountant at the A. C. Campbell Construction Company at the time of
his death.

Survivors are his wife; two sons, C. W. Jr., and Robert Owen; one daughter,
Mrs. George Wilcox, all of Shreveport.

Pallbearers were John T. DeLoach, Tommy DeLoach, Trichel DeLoach, Holloman
Rogers, Edward Horton, and Dudley Shell.
