C. Stricklands Succumbs Dec. 7 Mrs. Willa Jean Davis, 47, died in Houston, Texas, December 7, 1971, after an illness of eight years. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E. C. Strickland of Route 1, Montgomery, and a graduate of Atlanta High School. She attended the Huey P. Long Memorial Trade School where she received her business education. For many years she held positions with various government agencies. Her marriage to Lt. Col. Vincent Davis took her numerous places of residence but for the past year she had been a resident of Houston, where Col. Davis had retired from the Air Force. She was a member of the Methodist Church in Lake Charles. Surviving besides her husband and parents are one brother, James F. Strickland of Westlake; and one sister, Mrs. LaWana Sumrall of Baker, La.; three nieces and two nephews. Funeral services were held Friday at 10 a.m. at Dodd Field Chapel with Chaplain Lt. Col. Thomas M. Williams officiating. Burial was in Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery at Ft. Sam Houston, Texas.
