All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** Ms. Jim Dawson of Camden, Ark., Dies Following Operation Mrs. Jim Dawson, lf Louann, Arkansas, died in a sanitarium at Camden, Arkansas, Wednesday, March 16, following an illness of four weeks resulting from an operation for appendicitis. Her body arrived over the Rock Island Friday night and was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Bob Dawson until Sunday, awaiting the arrival of a brother, Charley Long, of San Antonio. Funeral services were held by Rev. A. H. Cullen, pastor First Baptist Church, Sunday afternoon at the Winnfield Cemetery where interment took place. Mrs. Dawson was a native of Winn Parish. Her parents were Mr. and Mrs. John Long, who lived in the Corinth Community where the deceased was born 28 years ago. Her parents are both dead. Mrs. Dawson is survived by her husband, Jim Dawson and five children, three sons, and two daughters. They are Pleasage, 17, employed in the oil fields at Louann, Harold, age 14, and Ophelia, age 11, both in school, Irene, age 6, and Olon, age 4. Among the large number of out of town relatives attending the funeral Sunday were Mrs. Ella Womack of Coushatta, Mr. and Mrs. Jim Long of Louann, Arkansas, Mr. and Mrs. Will Rabb of Urania, Mr. and Mrs. Jim Bolton of Tullos, and Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Long of San Antonio.
