Last Rites Held Here Monday For James Dawson

James Dawson, 50 some odd years of age, died suddenly at his home in Overton,
Texas, Sunday, August 5. The remains were brought to Winnfield Monday
afternoon where funeral services were conducted at the First Baptist Church
with the pastor, Rev. H. H. McBride, in charge. He was assisted by Rev. J. A.
Cockerham. Interment was made in the Winnfield cemetery.

A native of Winn Parish, near Georgetown, Mr. Dawson had made his home in
Texas for the past several years.

Surviving him are three sons and two daughters, Mrs. Ophelia Hill, Mrs. Inez
_______, Pleas Harrell and Olan Dawson, all of Overton, Texas. He also leaves
three brothers, John of Monroe, Bob of Winnfield, and Henry R. Dawson of
Corinth; and three sisters, Mrs. Emma Oswald, Center, Texas, Mrs. Matt Barlow,
Texas, and Mrs. Maude Wheat, Pollock.
