Kyson, 6 year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Doyle B. Kyson of the Jordan Hill Community, drowned in Fish Creek, Grant Parish, Sunday afternoon near Old U. S. Highway 165. The drowning apparently occurred at approximately 3:30 p.m., investigating officers said. Authorities said they were told the child had wandered away from his parents while the family was enjoying an outing. The youth, born in Germany, was the only child of the Kysons. Mrs. Kyson is a native of Germany and her mother, Mrs. Maria Rogge, is a resident of Liepzig, East Germany. His paternal grandmother is Mrs. Joseph W. Kyson of Rt. 2, Winnfield. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Zion Baptist Church below the Jordan Hill Community, with Rev. Merle Bates, Rev. M. M. Melder, and Rev. Willie Broadway officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery under direction of Southern Funeral Home.
