Mrs. Dean passed away Monday, September 11 at Swedish Medical Center in Englewood, Colorado. He was born March 16, 1928 at Coldwater, La., to Abner and Villa Chloe Allen Dean. Mr. Dean was a geophysicist and geologist and he was president of Ranch Oil Company in Denver. He was a member of the Joy Lutheran Church in Parker, the AAPG, the SPE, Rocky Mountain Pioneers and the Masonic Lodge in Dallas, Texas. Mr. Dean was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, and hunting. He was a graduate of Calvin High School, attended LSU and graduate from Northeast Louisiana University in Monroe. He was married to Helen Mae Owens on May 29, 1955 in Mattoon, Illinois. He is survived by his wife, Helen, four sons, Michael, Mark, Carl, and Richard, all of Colorado; two brothers, Bill Dean of Many and Thomas Dean of Ferriday; two sisters, Mary Belle Key and Edna Curtis of Many; and one granddaughter, Jennifer Ann Dean of Denver. Mr. Dean was a dedicated family man and a faithful church member. Mr. Dean was brought home to Many for burial in the Zwolle Cemetery.
