All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** From: March 14, 1957 Winn Parish Enterprise News-American Funeral Services For Wiley Deas, 52, Held March 12 Funeral services for Wiley Deas, 52, of Dodson, who died in Veterans Hospital at Shreveport March 11, were held March 12 at the Assembly of God Church in Dodson at 2:30 p.m. Rev. S. L. Carpenter officiated, assisted by Rev. Mrs. B. L. Upton, with burial in the Transport Cemetery. Acting as pallbearers were Jake Lee, Clayton Norred, E. B. Murphy, Earl Vines, Jim Daily, and Elmo Elliott. Mr. Deas was born in Coffin County, Texas but moved to Sikes when small, and later to Dodson, where he has resided for 40 years. He was a log hauler and had been in ill health for a number of years. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Deas; one daughter, Carrie; one son, Timothy Lee; his mother, Mrs. Ella Garner; two brothers, Joe and James of Dodson; five sisters, Mrs. Curtis Heyse, Mrs. Julian Howell, Mrs. Grady Jones, Mrs. Booty Walker, and Mrs. Shird Thompson, all of Dodson.
