J. Dean, Sr., To Be Friday, at 10 A. M. Funeral services for Edward J. Dean, Sr., 61, Winnfield, who died this morning at Baptist Hospital in Alexandria, after several weeks illness, will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday from the residence. He was employed at American Creosote Works, Inc. Mr. Dean was born at Dodson. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Maud Dean, one son, E. J., Jr.; three daughters, Mrs. Sye Varnell, Mrs. Ranel Brady, Jr., both of Winnfield, and Mrs. R. W. Awalt, Bryant, Texas; two brothers, Milton of Cotton Valley and Harve of Pine Prairie, La.; four sisters, Mrs. Willie Preston, Ferriday, Mrs. Vassar Stewart, Dodson, Mrs. Sam Goodwin, Alexandria, and Mrs. Ida Brown, Springhill. Burial will be in Winnfield Cemetery with Rev. Alwin Stokes in charge of arrangements, assisted by Rev. Fred Flurry. Services will be under direction of Southern Funeral Home.
