Jesse R. Dean Dies At Age 76; Rites Held Tues.

Jesse Randall Deen, 76, died at 6:25 p.m. Saturday in an Jonesboro hospital. 
He was a resident of Pineville and a retired grocer.

A native of Grant Parish, he was active in civic affairs and a former member
of the board of commissioners of Water District No. 3, and former chairman of
Draft Board No. 49.  He was a veteran and a member of First Baptist Church,
Tioga, and Curtis T. Hines Masonic Lodge No. 317 F. & A. M.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Pearl Lanier Deen of Pineville; two sons,
Randall E. Deen of Marshall, Texas, and Robert L. Deen of Pineville; a
daughter, Mrs. Marvin Jordan of Tioga; three brothers, Marion Deen of
Montgomery, Arthur Deen of Beaumont, Texas, and Eben Deen of Alexandria; two
sisters, Mrs. Carrie Creed of Tioga and Mrs. Mollie Harper of Alexandria, and
four grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Hixson
Brothers, Pineville.  Burial was in Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
