D. Dean, 60, Dies; Buried At Yankee Springs Mrs. Manilla Dean, 60, of Route 1, Goldonna, died in a Winnfield hospital June 12, 1959, after a long illness. Funeral services were conducted at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at the Yankee Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Louis Moffett and Rev. Roy Flurry officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery under direction of Southern Funeral Home. Acting as pallbearers were Harry Martin, Bryant Hurly, C. H. Durbin, R. E. Caskey, Leslie Blake, Virgil Carpenter. Honorary pallbearers were J. M. Dean and W. T. Gresham, Sr. The deceased is survived by her husband, C. D. Dean, Rt. 1, Goldonna; two sons, Joseph of Goldonna and Jack of West Monroe; seven daughters, Mrs. Charles B. Smith and Mrs. W. L. Johnson, of Winnfield; Mrs. Chester Ross and Mrs. Fred Ross of Rt. 1, Goldonna; Mrs. T. L. Huddleston and Mrs. W. T. Gresham, Jr., of Jonesboro; Miss Charleen Dean, West Monroe; and 31 grandchildren. Also surviving are five sisters: Mrs. Viola Durbin, Rt. 1, Goldonna, Mrs. C. B. Carter, Rt. 3, Winnfield, Mrs. Fate Burdge, Shreveport, Mrs. John Martin, Lake Charles, and Miss P___ Blake, Pineville; six brothers, J. M. Blake, Cullen, Isom, W. R., and T. Blake, all of Rt. 1, Goldonna, T. H., Silsbee, Texas, and P. J. Blake of Lake Charles.
