An active member of the Sanders Chapel Church, Mr. Dean was also a member of the Calvin Masonic Lodge. Funeral rites were conducted Wednesday, November 8, at Sanders Chapel near Calvin with Rev. Shaw officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery under direction of Southern Funeral Home in Winnfield. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Moese F. Dean, four sons, George Dean, Bossier City, J. H. Dean, Natchez, Miss., Osie Dean, Jr., Oil City, La., and Estes Dean, of Shreveport. Two daughters, Mrs. Rachel Bryan, and Mrs. Mildred Emch(?) of Shreveport. Two brothers, Charles Dean of Goldonna, La., J. M. Dean of Baton Rouge. Four sisters, Mrs. Nena Cunningham, Goldonna, Mrs. Elvie Barnes, Lone Star, Texas, Mrs. Minnie Straughn and Mrs. Ebb Machen of Winnfield. Twelve grandchildren.
