Dean Willis Posey Dean, 75, of Homer died Thursday, May 10, 1979 in the Homer Memorial Hospital following a long illness. A native of Goldonna, Mr. Dean had lived in Homer the past 40 years. He was a retired employee of the Gulf Oil Company. Mr. Dean was a member of the First United Methodist Church, the Men's Bible Class, Past Master of the Homer Masonic Lodge, Past Patron of Claiborne Chapter No. 145, O. E. S., and had served as treasurer of the Homer Masonic Lodge for the past 25 years. He recently received from the Grand Lodge of Louisiana a 25 year Certificate of Proficiency. Services were held at 4 p.m. Friday in the Davidson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Cleburne Quaid and the Rev. Paul Durbin officiating. Burial was in Arlington Cemetery following Masonic rites conducted by James O. White. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Dean; one daughter, Mrs. Joe Richardson; one son, Larry Dean of Homer; one brother, Leon Dean of Goldonna; three sisters, Mrs. Janie Bemont, Mrs. Mae Robinson, and Mrs. Vivian Gibbs, all of Winnfield; and five grandchildren. Active pallbearers were Harold Carpenter, Bobby Cook, Bud Ruple, David Stanford, Danny Roy Moore, Felton Alexander, Glenn Bays, and Leroy Tinsley. Honorary pallbearers were members of the Mens Bible Class, Masonic Lodge, and Gulf employees.
