H. Deen Graveside services were held at Hargis for Mr. Irvin Deen of Starks, La., at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, May 9, 1971 with Reverends Wayne Blue, Mack Bright, and Jerrill Page officiating. Interment was in Hargis Cemetery. Mr. Deen was a former Hargis resident having moved with his family to Starks several years ago where his wife is a faculty member of Starks High School. Mr. Deen was born July 13, 1904, was married in 1935 to the former Miss Leola Fletcher, also a Hargis native. Pallbearers were J. C. Deen, Otha Deen, Randall Edward Deen, Milver Box, Charles Creed, and Bobby Deen, all nephews of the deceased. Survived by his wife and three sons, Keith and Enloe Deen of Starks, and Denneth Deen of Verda, La., four brothers, Marion Deen of Route 1, Montgomery, La., Arthur Deen of Beaumont, Tex., Randall Deen of Tioga, La., and Ebbin Deen of Alexandria, two sisters, Mrs. Mary Harper of Alexandria, La., and Mrs. Carrie Creed of Tioga, La., and six grandchildren.
