Deen Succumbs After Brief Illness Last Rites Are Held At Liberty Chapel In Grant Parish Mrs. Ida Elizabeth Albright Deen, wife of W. P. Deen, died suddenly at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Thelma Buchanan in Winnfield Thursday, April 24, 1941, from a heart attack. Funeral services were held Friday at 3 p.m. at Liberty Chapel, Williana, La., with burial in the family plot. The Pineville Brotherhood was in charge of the singing. The Rev. J. G. L. Brown of Pineville officiated and was assisted by Rev. W. D. Sherwood and Rev. H. H. McBride of Winnfield. Born April 29, 1871, Mrs. Deen, had she lived until Tuesday of this week, would have reached her 70th birthday. She and her husband celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary last December, having married December 22, 1890. She joined the Methodist Church when a young girl and lived a consecrated Christian life. Besides her husband, she is survived by five daughters and one son: Mrs. Eva Hyde, Mrs. Lela Guilliams, Williana, La.; Mrs. Julia Smith, Dry Prong, La.; Mrs. McBride, Ansley, La.; Mrs. Thelma Buchanan, Winnfield, and Marion Deen, Gulf Port, Miss. Two brothers, Joe Albright of Jackson Parish, and Robert Albright of Texas and one sister, Mrs. Ettie Watson of Jackson Parish, also survive. Acting as pallbearers were grandsons of the deceased: James A. McBride, Thayron Hyde, Dean McBride, Ethel Smith, Bob Buchanan, Ila Albright, Lee Deen and Cade Fogleman. Southern Funeral Home of Winnfield was in charge.
