Last Rites Held for Vander Dees Monday at Cypress Creek

Vander Dees, age about 65 year, died at his home in Dodson Sunday afternoon,
following a brief illness.  Mr. Dees was a resident of Dodson for several
years.  He is survived by his wife and several children, Mrs. Stenwood
(Sherwood?) Thompson, Mrs. Grady James, Dodson; Mrs. J. B. Walker of Gaars
Mill, Miss Beckie and Alma Dees, Dodson; Joe Dees, Wiley Dees, and James Dees,
Dodson; two brothers and a sister in Texas.

The funeral services were held Monday afternoon at Cypress Creek Baptist
church, Rev. James Horton of Shreveport, pastor of the Dodson Baptist Church,
having officiated.  Interment was in the Cypress Creek Cemetery.
