Deloach After a Lingering Illness He Finally Succumbed It was with feelings of sorrow that this community heard the report that John E. DeLoach died at 6 o clock Saturday evening, July 30. He had been in bad health for more than a year. Although he had shown symptoms of getting better, his death was not unexpected. He was at one time sheriff of this parish and was always a peacable, lawabiding citizen and had many friends, the number only limited by the extent of his acquaintance. He was a member of the Knights of Pythias and Masonic fraternities. He leaves a wife and several small children, a host of relatives and friends to mourn his death. His remains were laid to rest at Union church, six miles northeast of Winnfield Sunday evening, Rev. S. L. Morris pastor of the First Baptist church of Winnfield conducting the funeral service. To his bereaved family and relatives friends extend heartfelt sympathy. (NOTE: J. E. DeLoach was the son of E. H. DeLoach. He was the husband of Kate T. Carver.)
