C. Dempsey Friday at 2 p.m. Funeral services for Mrs. G. C. Dempsey, 77, a resident of Winnfield for the past 18 years, will be held at the family residence on Valley Street at 2 p.m. Friday, April 27, with the Rev. P. M. Caraway officiating. Burial will be in the Dempsey family cemetery four miles north of Jena. Mrs. Dempsey died in a local hospital at 9:30 p.m. Wednesday following an illness of approximately six months. She was born in Jackson Parish on June 12, 1874, and had made her home with her husband in Winnfield since 1933. She was a member of the Winnfield Pentecostal Church. Surviving are her husband, G. C. Dempsey of Winnfield; three sons, Michael John Dempsey of Hallsville, Texas, Thomas W. Dempsey of Shreveport, and Dewitt D. Dempsey of Beaumont, Texas; two daughters, Mrs. J. M. Box of Winnfield and Miss Ruby Dempsey of Winnfield; two brothers, Esband Tullos of Walker, La., and Charlie Tullos of Olla; 15 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be grandsons of Mrs. Dempsey.
