G. Dickerson Dies; Rites Held Friday James Gordan "Red" Dickerson, 74, of Winnfield, died Thursday, February 20, 1975. Mr. Dickerson was a member of the Winnfield First Baptist Church and Masonic Lodge receiving his 50 year pin in 1973, a native of Winn Parish and a retired employee of Allied Chemical (Solvay Process) for 28 years. Having been transferred to Illinois by the company in 1948 he lived there 17 years, retiring in 1965. While living there he helped organize a little Baptist Church in Red Bird, Illinois. He also served as deacon of the church in Red Bud. After retiring from Allied Chemical in 1965, he returned to Winnfield, where he worked as a radio operator at the police station for six years. Services were held at 2 p.m. Friday in Southern Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Calvin Phelps officiating, assisted by the Rev. Charles Haley. Burial was in Garden of Memories under the direction of Southern Funeral Home of Winnfield. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Edith Dickerson of Winnfield; one daughter, Mrs. Kenneth Gaylean of Wichita Falls, Tex.; one brother, H. O. Dickerson of Winnfield; one sister, Mrs. Frank Killingsworth of Baton Rouge; six grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Pallbearers included Harper Terrill, C. E. Sherwood, Fletcher Melton, C. C. Killingsworth, S. L. Garrett, Chester Camp.
