He had been a patient in the hospital for several years. Funeral services will be held Friday, January 8, at 2 p.m. at the First Baptist Church with the pastor, Dr. W. L. Holcomb, officiating. Burial will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery under direction of Southern Funeral Home, where the remains will be until time for the final rites. Mr. Dickerson, a native of Winn Parish, was a wood scaler for a local mill before becoming ill. He was a member of First Baptist Church and the local Woodmen of the World. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Virginia Dickerson; two sons, Gordon Dickerson of Winnfield and James A. Dickerson of Vidalia; one daughter, Mrs. James A. Howell, Shreveport; two brothers, H. O. Dickerson, Winnfield, and J. Gordon Dickerson, Redbud, Ill.; one sister, Mrs. G. F. Killingsworth, Baton Rouge; and three grandchildren. Final Rites Held For Pete Dickerson Here January 8 Final rites for William Lester Dickerson, 51, who passed away January 7, after a long illness, were held at First Baptist Church at 2 p.m. January 8, with the pastor, Dr. W. L. Holcomb, the Rev. J. D. Thompson, and the Rev. C. C. Martin officiating. Burial was in the Garden of Memories Cemetery under direction of Southern Funeral Home. Acting as pallbearers were L. L. Brewton, Sr., Rudolph Foster, R. W. Gandy, Dudley Shell, Herbert Harrison, and Marvin Harrell. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Virginia Bell Dickerson; two sons, James A. of Vidalia and Gordon E. of Winnfield; one daughter, Mrs. James A. Howell, Jr., Shreveport; two brothers, H. O. Dickerson, Winnfield, and J. G. Dickerson of Redbud, Ill.; one sister, Mrs. G. F. Killingsworth of Baton Rouge; and three grandchildren.
