Dixon, 75, who died at her home near Verda on December 24, were held at the Mars Hill Baptist Church at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, December 26, with the Rev. Frank Israel of Colfax officiating. Burial was in the Mars Hill Cemetery under direction of Hixson Brothers. Mrs. Dixon, a native of Grant Parish, had lived in this vicinity all her life. She was born on October 29, 1873. She is survived by three sons, Milton of Washington, H. V. and Merritt Dixon of Verda; one daughter, Mrs. R. B. Sylvester of Alexandria; one brother, Charlie Calhoun of Aloha, La.; and two sisters, Mrs. H. F. McManus of Shreveport and Mrs. Rosie A. Jackson of Denham Springs, Texas. She was a sister of the late John L. Calhoun of Winnfield. Pallbearers were Marvin, David, and Wilburn Lingenfelter, Henry Maxwell, Dennis Delancy, and Roy McManus.
