John A. Dixon, one of the Justices of the Peace for the First Ward, died suddenly at his residence near Longstreet, Monday morning. He had barely time to dress before he fell dead. Judge Dixon was held in high esteem by his acquaintances and was a useful citizen and upright man. He was a brave Confederate Soldier and belonged to the Twelfth Louisiana Infantry. Reverand J. L. P.
