W. Dixon, 90, Of Wheeling Dies; Buried Tuesday G. W. Dixon, 90, a resident of the Wheeling Community for 68 years, died at his home at 5 a.m. Monday, February 1, after a long illness. Funeral services were conducted at the Mt. Zion Church at 2 p.m. Tuesday with the pastor, Rev. D. S. Durand, Rev. W. R. Akin, a former pastor, Rev. W. L. Cockerell, and the Rev. Mr. Richardson of Pineville officiating. Burial was in the church cemeteries with Masonic rites. Acting as pallbearers were grandsons, Lloyd, Wilmer, Keyes, and Harris Dixon, W. A. Carter, and Howard McLaren. Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Pugh McLaren, with whom he made his home; three sons, Tommy Strickland, of North Carolina, Charley Dixon, Montgomery, and Oscar Dixon of Pineville; one step son, O. L. Rucker of Columbia; two sisters, Mrs. Emma Pool of Verda and Mrs. Loss Davison of Mt. Zion, near Montgomery; 25 grandchildren and 35 great grandchildren.
