Funeral Services Held For Cecil Dickerson Monday

Funeral services were held Monday at 2:30 p.m. for Cecil Dickerson of
Shreveport who died Sunday in a Pineville hospital.  Mr. Dickerson was born in
Winnfield in 1894, and was 56 years old.  He had been a devout Christian all
of his life, joining the Baptist Church when he was very young.

His parents were the late Mr. Willie Dickerson and the late Mrs. Noma Sherwood
Dickerson.

Funeral services were at the New Jerusalem Baptist Church with the Rev. Irey
Peaks of Queensboro Baptist Church in Shreveport officiating.  Burial was
in the New Jerusalem Cemetery under direction of Rose-Neath Funeral Home
of Shreveport.

Surviving him are two sisters, Mrs. R. O. Byrnes and Mrs. Talmedge Arnett,
both of Shreveport and two brothers, Floyd and Otho of Shreveport.

Pallbearers were Otis Dickerson, Olan Dickerson, Lester Dickerson, Burton
Williams, Clyde Sherwood, and Elzie Jennings, all of these his cousins.
