Dickerson Succumbs At His Home Monday Funeral Services Tuesday With Interment In Jerusalem Cemetery Funeral services for Ellis Jack Dickerson, 56 years, 11 months and 9 days of age, who died at his home in Winnfield, Monday night, at 10:45, were held at the First Methodist Church Tuesday afternoon at 4 o'clock with the pastor, Rev. K. W. Dodson, in charge. He was assisted in the services by Rev. Alwin Stokes, pastor Presbyterian Church, and Dr. B. C. Land, pastor Baptist Church. Interment was in the Jerusalem Cemetery. Pallbearers were members of the local Masonic Order: J. R. Hall, W. U. Drewett, J. W. Walker, Joe Mitchell, John J. Peters, and Bryant Sholars. Mr. Dickerson had been in ill health for a long time. Last January he underwent an operation at a Shreveport hospital and had been confined to his bed since. He was a native of Winn Parish and lived practically his entire life in Winnfield. In his younger days he taught school in this parish. He was a member of the local Methodist Church and the Masonic Lodge. Surviving are his widow, three sons and one daughter in law, Mr. and Mrs. M. L. Dickerson and E. J. Dickerson, Jr., of Jonesboro; and Malvern G. Dickerson of Winnfield; two sisters, Mrs. W. H. Williams of Winnfield and Mrs. B. B. Jennings of Montgomery; three brothers, J. W. Dickerson, H. L. Dickerson, and J. F. Dickerson, Winnfield. Among the out of town relatives and friends besides the immediate family, attending the last rites were Mrs. R. O. Byrnes and Otto Dickerson, Shreveport; Audie Moffett, Monroe; Mr. and Mrs. H. H. Dickerson and Henry Jackson, Longview; Mr. and Mrs. Elzie Jennings and family of Campti.
