Mrs. D. Doherty Succumbs To Brief Illness

Funeral services for Mrs. Ethel Lee Doherty, 56, of Winnfield, who died
unexpectedly at 
1 p.m.  June 19 in a local hospital following a heart attack, were held at 10
a.m. Tuesday at Laurel Heights Baptist Church.

Officiating was the Rev. C. C. Martin, the Rev. Kenneth Wall, and the Rev. W.
A. Wimbs.  Burial was in the Beech Creek Cemetery under direction of Southern
Funeral Home.

Mrs. Doherty was a native of Grant Parish and a member of Laurel Heights
Baptist Church.  She was employed as a nurse at Martin Hospital.

She leave her husband, Dan Doherty of Winnfield; two sons, W. W. Doherty of
Montgomery and Willie Doherty of Winnfield; four daughters, Mrs. A. L.
Buchanan of Joyce, Mrs. J. E. Reeves and Mrs. Bobby Creel of Winnfield, and
Mrs. Belton Jordan of Orange, Tex.; one sister, Mrs. Sam Boyette of Olla; two
brothers, Jim and Luther Webb of Olla; and 10 grandchildren.
