P. Donohoe Here Illness of Only Five Days Duration is Fatal to Railroad Man D. P. Donahoe, 63 years of age, died at his home here Sunday, October 25, 1936 after an illness with pneumonia of five day's duration. Funeral services were conducted at the First Baptist Church Monday afternoon, with Rev. B. C. Land, pastor, and Rev. Alwin Stokes, Presbyterian pastor, in charge. Interment was in the Winnfield Cemetery. Active pallbearers were Alex Hill, E. Edwards, W. H. Jordan, Richard Noah, Jimmie Jenkins, James Bemont, and S. A. Ward. Honorary pallbearers were Albert Porter, E. B. Barton, Sr., J. J. Keyes, Sam Sherwood, and Rev. Will Sherwood. Mr. Donohoe was born and reared in Tennessee. He married Miss Hattie Slaten in Mississippi and the came to Louisiana and settled at Atlanta, La., in Winn Parish. In 1917 they moved to Winnfield. Mrs. Donohoe died in 1929. Mr. Donohoe was a railroad man and had worked for the L. R. & N. and the L. & A. Surviving are one son, two daughters: L. E. Donohoe and Miss Katherlee Donohoe of Winnfield, and Mrs. L. W. Colwell of Overton, Texas; and two brothers, John Donohoe of Morganza and Lawrence Donohoe of Alexandria.
