M. Douglas Held Mr. Douglas Died At His Home Wednesday Night. Services At 3 O'Clock Today Funeral services for Alonzo Malachi Douglas, age 71 years, who died at his home here Wednesday night at nine o'clock, were held at the First Baptist Church this afternoon at 3 o'clock. The Rev. J. R. Edwards, Baptist minister of Ruston, assisted by the Rev. Cullen, pastor of Winnfield Baptist Church, had charge of the services. Interment was in the Winnfield Cemetery. Mr. Douglas was a resident of Winnfield for more than twenty five years. For the past number of years he was owner of the Winnfield Shoe Hospital. Before coming to Winnfield, Mr. Douglas was an architect. Mr. Douglas at one time served as town councilman of Winnfield. He was one of the organizers and a director of the First National Bank. He was a member of the First Baptist Church. Mr. Douglas was born in Caldwell Parish, the son of Franklin and Elizabeth Douglas, deceased. He was married three times, first to Mrs. Primrose Raymond, 1879, second to Mrs. Cordelia Smith, 1896, and to Miss Bertha Alexander, in 1916. His only child, Mrs. S. N. Thomas, preceded him in death. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Bertha Alexander Douglas; three grandchildren, Mrs. Lucille Thomas Jones, Junction City, Ark.; Miss Lovia Thomas, El Dorado, Ark., and Marjorie Thomas, Winnfield; one brother, D. E. Douglas, Wyatt, Route 2; and one step son, Mr. Raymond of Wyatt, Route 2. Out of town relatives and friends attending Mr. Douglas' funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Bishop and family, Minden; Mr. and Mrs. T. G. Worsham, Woodworth; Mr. D. E. Douglas, Wyatt; Mrs. Pearl Buchanan, Wyatt; Mr. and Mrs. Will Watts, Wyatt; Mr. J. F. Raymond, Wyatt; Mr. and Mrs. K. A. Thomas, Atlanta; Willard W. Smith, Shreveport; Mrs. Brantley and Miss Ruie Brantley, Minden; Rev. and Mrs. J. R. Edwards, Ruston; Mr. and Mrs. S. W. Gandy, Bossier City; Rawlings Thomas and family, Pineville; and Mr. J. T. Walsworth, Dodson.
