John Dow Age 59 Dies Suddenly In Local Restaurant

John Dow, aged 59 years, died very suddenly at noon Saturday in B. W.
Bradford's restaurant.  Death was pronounced due to heart failure.

Mr. Dow was born in Syria but came to America many years ago and has been a
resident of Winnfield for several years, where he was a familiar figure on the
streets, having won the friendship of many of the citizens by his quiet,
unassuming manner.  He is well and favorably known throughout the entire
community because of his frequent trips as a salesman.

Sam and George Nomie of Jonesboro, brothers-in-law of the deceased and a son,
Charlie Dow of Mansfield arrived Saturday afternoon and took charge of the
funeral arrangements.  The remains were carried to Minden and interment was
made in the Minden Cemetery Monday afternoon.  Besides the above mentioned
relatives the deceased is survived by another son, Roy Dow of McKeesport, Pa.
