James Dowdall, Former Local Resident, Dies

James P. Dowdall, 81, of Ringgold, died Saturday night in his home after a
brief illness.  He was a former resident of Winnfield and a retired employee
of the Tremont & Gulf Railway.

Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Bertha Jarnagin Dowdall, also a former
resident of Winnfield, now of Ringgold; one daughter, of Alexandria; and one
granddaughter.

Last rites were held at 2 p.m. Monday in the Ringgold Catholic Church with
burial following in the Providence Cemetery.
