F. Dow Held Monday Succumbs at Home of Her Daughter, Mrs. Cope, In Natchitoches Last rites for Mrs. M. F. Dow, 83 years, 5 months, and 19 days, who died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. A. J. Cope, in Natchitohces Sunday, after a lingering illness with heart trouble, were held at the Winnfield Presbyterian Church Monday afternoon at 3 o'clock, with Rev. Alwin Stokes, assisted by Rev. John M. Wright, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Natchitoches, officiating. Interment was in the Winnfield Cemetery under the direction of Edmonds Funeral Home. Acting as pallbearers were J. R. Hall, B. L. Anderson, Earl Applewhite, Kenneth Watts, W. U. Drewett, and Horace Boyett. Mrs. Mary Frances Dow, born Westbrook at Hernando, Miss., Sept. 9, 1955, was the widow of the late C. C. Dow, who died May 11, 1922. They were married Aug. 25, 1883 at McNiel, Ark., and to this union were born eight children, six of whom died in infancy. They moved to Winnfield from Bernice, La., in 1913 where she had been assistant postmistress for eight years. Mrs. Dow had been a member of the Eastern Star since 1884 and was a charter member at McNeil, Ark., and Bernice, La. She was a member of the Winnfield Chapter at the time of her death. Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. A. J. Cope of Natchitoches, one son, Frank Dow and three grandchildren, Voriece, Albert, and Charles Dow of Winnfield, and two brothers, L. A. and R. L. Westbrook of McNeil, Ark. Out of town relatives and friends attending the funeral or Mrs. Dow were Rev. and Mrs. John M. Wright, Mr. and Mrs. H. G. Fawcett, Mesdames T. A. Ford, S. U. Shuler, J. B. Durham, I. E. Ward, Lula Greer, Dora Dezendorf, Jessie Prothro, L. W. Dezendorf, Claude Edmonds, M. L. Funderburk, E. K. Schultz, N. L. Pierce, and O. W. Spalding, all of Natchitoches, R. L. Westbrook, a brother, and Roy Westbrook, a nephew, of McNiel, Ark.
