All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** From: April 2, 1936 Winn Parish Enterprise Mrs. Evans Davenport of Wildsville Was Buried Here Saturday Funeral services were held Saturday morning at Winnfield for Mrs. Evans Davenport of Wildsville, who died Friday at New Orleans, after an illness of longstanding. Mr. and Mrs. Davenport were former residents of Jonesville where Mr. Davenport was employed several years as one of the foremen on the construction of the Black River bridge. After the bridge was completed they moved to the nearby village of Wildsville where he was engaged in farming and chicken raising. She is survived by the widower and four daughters, Mrs. John Henry Dumas of West Monroe, Mrs. Elinor Coker, Miss Evelyn Davenport, and Miss Gwendolyn Davenport, all of Wildsville.
