Drewett, 79, Succumbs; Buried Here February 24 William Uriah Drewett, 79, native and life-long resident of Winn Parish, died Monday, February 23, in a local hospital after a long illness. Funeral services were conducted Tuesday at 4 o'clock at the Southern Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. W. L. Holcomb, Rev. W. R. Gage and Rev. Hardy Beaubouef officiating. Burial was in the Winnfield cemetery with the local Masonic Lodge in charge. Mr. Drewett was a retired merchant, a city alderman here for many years, a deacon in the First Baptist Church, a past master of the local masonic lodge of which he was the oldest member, and was also treasurer, and an honorary member of the lodge. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Della O. Drewett, a daughter, Mrs. Nannie Bell Byles; two sons, Howard and Harold, all of Winnfield; five grandchildren and five great grandchildren. (NOTE: W. U. Drewett was one of five sons of Rev. Tilman E. and Susan Francis Martin Drewett. He was born Aug. 9, 1879, and died Feb 23, 1957. His children were, in order of birth, William Otto, Howard Oliver, Andrew Jackson, Nannie Belle, and Harold Winford Drewett.)
