All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** From: April 14, 1938 Winn Parish Enterprise Death Claims Mrs. Fannie Drewett, 81 Funeral Services Were Held Wednesday; Burial at Sardis Mrs. Fannie Drewett, 81, died at her home here Tuesday night following an illness of several years. Funeral services were conducted at the First Baptist Church Wednesday afternoon by Dr. B. C. Land, pastor in charge. He was assisted by Rev. G. A. Morgan, pastor of the First Methodist Church. Interment was in the Sardis Cemetery. Pallbearers were grandsons of the deceased, A. T. Drewett, Jr., Colvin Drewett, Otto Drewett, Harold Drewett, Walter Drewett, and Ray Drewett. Mrs. Drewett was born in Mississippi and was before her marriage Miss Fannie Martin. She was married to Rev. Tilman E. Drewett after she came to Louisiana. Many years ago he was killed by lightning, which stroke at the same time left Mrs. Drewett hard of hearing, a handicap she bravely bore throughout the rest of her life. In 1902 Mrs. Drewett moved to Winnfield from Atlanta and lived here the remainder of her life with the exception of two years she stayed with her daughter in law, Mrs. T. J. Drewett, at Mansfield. She had the misfortune of falling two years ago and breaking her hip and since that time has received the watchful care of Mrs. W. B. Goff. Mrs. Drewett was a member of the Winnfield Baptist Church and the Eastern Star. She was the mother of five sons, all of whom survive her with the exception of one, T. J. Drewett, who died at Mansfield several years ago. Those surviving are A. T. and W. U. Drewett of Winnfield; L. E. Drewett of LeCompte and I. V. Drewett of Verda.
