All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** From: May 1, 1952 Winn Parish Enterprise Daughter of Leonard Drivers Killed By Car Shirley Jean Driver, 2 « year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Driver, formerly of Calvin and now residents of Baton Rouge, was accidentally killed Monday afternoon when a car driver by her father backed over her. Mr. Driver was leaving for work and was backing his car out of the drive way when he heard his wife scream. He stopped and found that the left rear wheel of his car had run over the child. She was rushed to a hospital where she died at about one o'clock. Cause of death was a crushed chest and head injuries according to a police report. A coroner ruled that the death was accidental. Mr. Driver is manager of the market in Capitol Store Number 6 in Baton Rouge. He managed the market in the A & P Store here several years ago. Surviving besides the parents are two sisters, Kathryn Ann and Carolyn Marie and two grandmothers, Mrs. Beulah Truscott, Calvin, and Mrs. William G. Jackson, Alexandria. Funeral services were held Tuesday in St. Gerard Majella Church in Baton Route. The Drives live at 3763 Clayton Drive.
