V. Dunford, 78, Dies; Funeral Rites Held Tues. funeral rites for H. V. Dunford, 78, of Winnfield were held at 3 p.m. Tuesday in the United Methodist Church of Winnfield with the Rev. Richard Walton, the Rev. E. C. Dufresne, and the Rev. T. M. Caraway officiating. Burial was in the Garden of Memories Cemetery under the direction of Hixson Funeral Home. Mr. Dunford died Sunday, March 9, 1969 in Baptist Hospital at Alexandria following a brief illness. He was an active member of the Winnfield United Methodist church were he served on the board of stewards. He was past district lay leader and an active member of the Winnfield Lions Club. Mr. Dunford was a native of Ohio and was a graduate of Michigan State College of Foresty. He was a retired civil engineer for the Tremont Lumber Co. of Winnfield and a charter member of the Louisiana Forestry Assn. Survivors include his wife; one daughter, Mrs. Bill Davis of Plain Dealing; two brothers, Dr. R. E. Dunford of Knoxville, Tenn., and C. S. Dunford of East Lansing, Mich.; three grandchildren. Pallbearers were Denton Shell, Estes Bozeman, Rayford Roark, Newton Forrest, Ernest Vines, Douglas Berlin, James Russell, and M. J. Fowler.
