Husband Of Winn Native Buried At Sardis Monday

James Dupree, 26 year old Shreveport father of two, was killed almost
instantly at 9:30 p.m. Friday about three miles west of Shreveport on U. S.
80.

Dupree, the sole occupant of the car at the time of the wreck, died of a
crushed skull and other injuries when his auto went out of control and struck
a tree beside the road while passing a truck.  He was traveling toward
Shreveport. The car crashed into the tree on the north side of the highway and
Dupree was thrown from the vehicle.  He was pinned beneath the car.  He was
taken to a sanitarium where he was pronounced dead upon arrival.

Dupree was the husband of the former Dorethia Hyde of the Sardis Community. He
had resided in Winn Parish for a year or two.  He was a brick mason by trade.

Surviving are his wife and children of Shreveport.

Last rites were conducted Monday afternoon at the Sardis Baptist Church with
burial in the Sardis Cemetery.
