P. Durham, Sister of Local Residents, Dies Mrs. J. P. Durham, 76, of Shreveport, died September 24 after a long illness. She was the twin sister of Mrs. Eula Peavy, and the sister of Mrs. W. O. Averett and Mrs. Walter W. Allen, all of Winnfield. Funeral services were conducted at 2:30 p.m. Saturday in the Rose-Neath Funeral Home, with the Rev. Todd Hamilton, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Minden, and the Rev. Paul Stockemer, associate pastor of Parkview Baptist Church, officiating. Burial was in Forest Park Cemetery. A native of Winnfield, the deceased was the former Beulah Perkins, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. H. J. Perkins, pioneers of this area. She had lived in Shreveport for 60 years, and was a member of the Parkview Baptist Church. Other survivors are one daughter, Mrs. James J. Mitchell of Shreveport; two sons, Wayne J. and J. Harris Durham, both of Shreveport; seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Attending the last rites for Mrs. Durham from Winnfield were Mr. and Mrs. Walter Allen, Warren Allen, Mrs. Eula Peavy, and Mrs. W. O. Averett.
