Carlton M. Durham, 28, of Houston, Texas, son of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Durham of Durham's Camp on Saline Lake, passed away Friday, September 9, in a Veterans' Hospital in Houston, Texas. He had been seriously ill for about ten days. Funeral services were held in the Church of Christ, Natchitoches, on Sunday at 1:30 p.m., with burial in Memory Lawn Cemetery, Natchitoches. Rev. G. B. Grimes, pastor of Belford Park Church of Christ, Houston, officiated. Pallbearers were Tommy Godges, Carl Pharr, Clyde Sebastian, Brodie Tanner, Alpha Fisher, Jr., and Jimmie Woodworth. Surving are his wife, Lois Durham; two brothers, Walter G. and Clarence N.; a sister, Mrs. John Tucker, all of Houston; and his parents. Mr. Durham had been employed with James Howard Associated Engineers in Houston. He attended elementary and high school in Winnfield and Natchitoches, and received a degree in electrical engineering at Northwestern State College. He served in the Navy four years in World War II.
