Davies gedavies@winnfield.net February 20, 2008, 8:15 pm December 20, 1972 Winn Parish Enterprise News-American Apparent Hit Run Victim In Grant Expires Matt Watson Dyson, 53, of Montgomery, died late Saturday or early Sunday morning, apparently the victim of a hit and run driver. According to the Grant Parish Sheriff's Dept., the accident occurred within the city limits of Montgomery on La. Hwy. 34 near its intersection with U. S. Hwy. 71. Evidence at the scene indicated that Dyson was apparently in the highway at the time of the accident. The car that hit him apparently didn't leave the road, the sheriff's department spokesman said. The body was discovered Sunday morning by a Montgomery resident. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Union Grove church near Montgomery. Burial with full military rites was held in the church cemetery under direction of Southern Funeral Home of Winnfield. He was a veteran of World War II and the Korean War and was a member of the Church of God. He is survived by a daughter, Miss Brenda Dyson of Mississippi; two brothers, Theron Dyson and Paul Dyson, both of Montgomery; six sisters, Mrs. Grace Dorozinsky of Shreveport, Mrs. Ola Perkins, Mrs. Elaine Johnson, Mrs. Marilyn Gibbs, all of Montgomery, Mrs. Norma McLemore of New Orleans, and Mrs. Lucia Lupkes of Atlanta, GA.
