Alexis Davies, Father of Local Residents, Dies

Alexis Davies, 71, of Rusk, Texas, died Monday in Rusk.  He was the father of
two Winnfield residents.

Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Tuesday in the Drewett Funeral Home in
Mansfield.  The Rev. Bengston, assisted by the Rev. George W. Ross of
Winnfield, officiated.  Burial was in the family plot at the Mansfield Town
Cemetery.

Survivors include a son, Leslie Ray Davies, Sr., of Winnfield; two daughters,
Mrs. Norma Spencer of Winnfield and Mrs. Lexine Pope of Richardson, Texas; a
sister, Mrs. Jennie Hamilton of Pineville; eight grandchildren and two great
grandchildren.

Mr. Davies was a retired employee of Gulf Oil Company.

Attending the funeral from Winnfield besides members of the family were Rev.
and Mrs. G. W. Ross.
