Sam Durbin Dies After Brief Illness

Funeral services for Sam Durbin, 75, of Goldonna, were held at 2 p.m. Friday
at the Antioch Methodist Church with the Rev. W. L. Fussell officiating,
assisted by Rev. Grafton Shaw and Sister Hazel Anderson.  Burial was in the
church cemetery.

Mr. Durbin died Thursday, April 26, 1973 at his residence after a short
illness.  He was a retired forester with the federal government and a native
of Winn Parish and a member of Antioch Methodist Church.

Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Sam Durbin of Goldonna; three sons, J. B.
Durbin and Hesley Durbin, both of Goldonna, and Arlon Durbin of Jonesboro; two
daughters, Mrs. Brian Hatten of Winnfield and Mrs. Jim D. Martin, Goldonna;
four sisters, Mrs. Clara Gibbs, Mrs. Lela Kelley, Mrs. Shirley Babers, and
Mrs. Pearl Durbin, all of Goldonna; five brothers, Dammons Durbin, Alon
Durbin, Cummings Durbin, Jim Durbin, and Gaylon Durbin, all of Goldonna; 13
grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
