Mrs. Drewett had been confined to her bed most of the time since she fell and broke her hip about three three years ago. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at the First Baptist church, conducted by Rev. Dr. B. C. Land, pastor, assisted by Dr. G. A. Morgan, pastor of the First Methodist church, and interment was in the Sardis cemetery, six miles south of Winnfield. The deceased was a native of Mississippi, moving to the Sardis community with her parents, the late Mr. and Mrs. Billy Martin. She was married to the Rev. Tillman E. Drewett, a Baptist minister, who was killed by a bolt of lightning. Following her husband's death, Mrs. Drewett and her family in 1900 moved to Winnfield, where she has continuously resided. She is survived by four sons, A. T. Drewett and W. U. Drewett of Winnfield, L. E. Drewett of Lecompte, and I. V. Drewett of Verda. Another son, Tom Drewett, Mansfield, died a few years ago. Serving as pall bearers at the funeral rites were the grandsons of the deceased, A. T. Drewett, Jr., Colvin Drewett, W. Otho Drewett, Harold Drewett, Walter Drewett and Roy Drewett. (NOTE: Susan F. Martin Drewett was the daughter of William J. Martin and Sophia A. Cross Martin. She was born Oct. 27, 1856, and died April 12, 1938. When her husband was killed by lightning, she was left to raise their five sons alone, for she never remarried. Her husband, Rev. Tillman E. Drewett, 34 years of age (d.22 June 1885), had, evidently, a premonition of his death: he had told others that he wouldn't be with them long.)
