All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** From: October 19, 1961 Winn Parish Enterprise News-American Mrs. Desadier, 108, Is Buried At St. Maurice Oct. 18 A 108 year old Natchitoches Parish woman, Mrs. Victorine Flores Desadier, died in a Natchitoches hospital, Tuesday, leaving 195 direct descendants, including five generations. An orphan of the Civil War, Mrs. Desadier was born in Montgomery, La., Jan. 14, 1853. Her father, Hosea Flores, died in service of the Confederacy during a flu epidemic which claimed his entire battalion during the Battle of Mansfield. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday from St. Joseph's Catholic Church, in the Pace Community, with the Rev. Francis Crowe officiating. Burial was in the St. Maurice Cemetery. Mrs. Desadier was the mother of 18 children, seven of whom are living. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Phanor Desadier of Clarence and Mrs. Charles N. Cox, Baton Rouge; five sons, Jim Carter of West Monroe, Walter Carter of Rt. 3, Natchitoches, Clarence Desadier and Noah Desadier, both of Clarence, and W. W. Desadier of Alexandria; 35 grandchildren, 102 great grandchildren, 50 great-great grandchildren, and one great-great-great granddaughter.
