He logged with oxen and wagons in this area for many years for Tremont Lumber Company, and farmed at the point where Tremont tracks crossed the Tullos highway at the water tower at old Camp Murry. Last rites were conducted at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 19, at Southern Funeral Home with Rev. Ralph Frazier officiating. Burial was in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Survivors include his widow, four brothers, Henry Edwards of Winnfield, Calvin Edwards of Arkansas, Marion Edwards of Texas, and Lonnie Edwards of Junction City, Ark.; two grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
