Miss Edith Eagles Succumbs At N. O. Hospital Mar. 27

Daughter of Mrs. Olive Eagles Will Be Buried Here Friday, 2 P. M.

Miss Geraldine Edith Eagles, 21, succumbed at a New Orleans sanitarium
Wednesday, March 27, at 8 p. m., following an illness of several months.  She
had been a patient in the hospital for about three weeks.

The remains were expected to arrive at the home of her mother, Mrs. Olive
Eagles, Thursday night.  Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 2
o'clock at the First Baptist Church.  Interment will follow in the Winnfield
Cemetery.

Miss Eagles was the daughter of Mrs. Olive Eagles, teacher in the Winnfield
school, and the late H. C. Eagles.  Born in Winnfield, September 15, 1918, she
attended and graduated from the local high school in 1935.  She was active in
various organizations of the First Baptist Church.  When she became ill she
was a member of the senior class of Louisiana State University, and her church
membership was with the First Baptist Church of Baton Rouge.

Besides her mother, she is survived by one sister, Mrs. Cooper (Olivia)
Ratliff of Bogalusa; and two brothers, H. C. and Rowland, of Winnfield.
