He was a former director of logistics for the Defense Nuclear Agency in Washington, D. C. where he retired in July after 44 years. He was a Winnfield, La., native and is a former resident of Alexandria, La. He served as post engineer at Fr. Polk from 1942 to 1958 and began his career as a U. S. Forest Service engineer in the Civilian Conservation Corps. He was named "Man of the Year for 1977" by the First Baptist Church of Alexandria where he was a deacon. Survivors include his wife, Inez Goodwin Eagles of Alexandria; two daughters, Mrs. Lillie Jane Fleming and Mrs. Jean Lamar Buchold; one sister, Mrs. Mattie Lou Farmer; one brother, G. P. Eagles; and five grandchildren. Services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Alexandria, Va.
