Eagles, Retired Teacher, Dies In Miss. Mrs. Olive Shelton Eagles, 76, died Saturday night, October 11, 1969 in a Canton, Miss., hospital. She was a resident of Winnfield and a native of Winn Parish. She was a school teacher in Winn Parish schools for over 35 years, a member of the First Baptist Church here, and a member of the National Retired Teachers Association. Survivors include two sons, Harry Clayton Eagles of Canton, James Rowland Eagles of Gibsonia, Pa.; a daughter, Mrs. F. C. Ratliff of Camas, Wash.; a sister, Mrs. C. R. Mixon of Shreveport; seven grandchildren and one great grandchild. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Southern Funeral Home with Rev. Thomas W. Cox officiating, assisted by Rev. Robert Gage. Burial was in Winnfield City Cemetery. Pallbearers were Eugene F. Love, Don Turner, R. L. Terry, Kidd Farr, Woodard Barr, and Richard Cole.
