L. Edmonds, Jonesboro, Oct. 22 E. L. "Buck" Edmonds, prominent Jonesboro businessman and owner of Edmonds Funeral Home in Jonesobor, died Friday night in a Ruston hospital after a long illness. He was 53. Edmonds was a past president of the Louisiana Board of Embalmers, past president of the North Louisiana Funeral Directors Association, was named "Man of the Year," in 1960 by the association, and was active in church, civic and community affairs. He was also president of the Pelican State Life Insurance Company, headquartered in Jonesboro. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday in the First Baptist Church of Jonesboro with Rev. John Hurt officiating. Burial was in Rocky Springs Cemetery near Elizabeth. He is survived by his wife; three sisters, Mrs. Mary Suggs of Homer, Mrs. L. G. Williams of Minden, and Miss Leslie V. Edmonds of Franklin, and a brother, Lester Edmonds of Homer.
